Major national public inquiry

The challenge:

Our client was the subject of a very high-profile, national public inquiry into key aspects of its operations.

The inquiry was protracted and ultimately made a number of extremely negative conclusions about our client’s operations.

fowlstone’s approach:

Our approach was to make a clean break with the past by highlighting the significant changes that the client had already implemented prior to the inquiry taking place.

We commissioned an external expert review of policies and procedures in this area, and used third-party support to demonstrate the client’s compliance. At the appropriate time, we also undertook a rebranding exercise.

Critically, we used an appropriate level of emotion in all communications, given the severity of the inquiry and its conclusions.

The results:

Our client emerged through the media scrutiny with minimal damage to the organisation, and was able to begin the process of rebuilding its reputation.
